Based in Mashiko, Tochigi, ceramic artist Katsuyoshi Ōoka explores the rich expressive realm that lies between vessels for use and vessels for contemplation.
Rooted in traditional techniques, his work weaves his own sensibility into form and color, creating pieces that quietly invite both the eye and the heart to dwell.
